Eh.

I really wish you could have updated the animation quality a bit by filling in gaps in the animation like when he changes channels, sticks out his tongue, blinks and all that. I realize that it wouldn't authentically be the "original" if you did that, but it would have been slightly better considering our wait for a new flash coming from you following up your other sumbissions to this point. Whatever, to each is own.

The video quality is exceptional for the time it was done.

The-Swain responds:

This is the original "blockhead cartoon". Why would I update the ORIGINAL BLOCKHEAD CARTOON>?!111

The action is good.

There's not doubt about that. It's pretty standard for a stick fight. Not a whole lot going on but not much to criticize either. The only visual problem is that stalky walk cycle from the red stickman, it appears as though what should only last for one frame in his walk cycle [the end] lasts for 3 or so frames before the walk cycle starts again.

One thing does piss me off though. The text reads way too fast and the bigger sentences last even shorter than the little ones do. If you're gonna force me to read it as opposed to hearing it, have the frame stop and give me the option to move forward given certain controls so that I can read at my own pace. I don't mean that in the context for when music is going and I can hear the lyrics, just the beginning dialogue.

hikuihito responds:

oh yah. Thanks for pointing that out, I'm just too lazy to fix it now haha. I'll take that into consideration if I make another one.

Mediocre.

My immediate first complaint is the dialogue. If you're gonna force me to read it as opposed to hearing it, have the frame stop and give me the option to move forward given certain controls so that I can read at my own pace. Some people will get bored after reading the dialogue when it doesn't go away and others won't be cognitive enough to fully read it before it disappears, limiting your audience. The type of ActionScript I'm referring to isn't at all hard or difficult to implement. It's the bare basics of ActionScript used to program quiz games.

It also helps to have Script Assist mode activated so you have better control over how your button works.

Your action is pretty good seeing as how it's reminiscent of AlvinEarthworms ideals of sprite animation. But there are parts I have to mention, in the beginning montage, when the Toadstool whom of which is tied up is falling through the air and is silhouetted, it's clear that he's supposed to fall behind the bush, not infront of it. You need to have better control over the Layers in your Timeline. I also noticed that you seem to have trouble in rendering your backgrounds. Just watch the introduction scene, the structures in the back don't connect with each other.

Above all, I'd say that you're doing a good job, for an amateur. You need to learn how to properly render your backgrounds. Though to be fair it is certainly better in its suspense than that other submission "Sonic Shadow Duel" that's made slightly more success then you have and I can tell you why. Your icon is just the default "no icon for this submission" icon.

This isn't the old days when you had to have a 46/46 height and width GIF image for your icons anymore. In today's NG it's far easier to create an icon for your movie. You can upload any format at any height/width you want and can crop out the icon out of that.

If you have the time, try and fix these flaws before you advance with any latter episodes okay.

The meanest but most constructive review I've read so far.

Great

Hey Hayk, it's me PsychopathUltimate from YT:

Originally, I detested Abo and Karo, mainly on the grounds that you always remove the outline work.

Now that you left them in, I can finally stop stressing about that and enjoy it.

I have just one complaint though; the dimensions of the content and the stage [A.K.A. that white square on top of a grey background in flash that's always 550x400 by default] are disproportionate with each other; you either typed in the wrong width level in the uploading page or it's really disproportionate in the FLA file; I'm unsure because most of the time the content fills the screen but at other times I see white [the stage] on the sides, like at the loading page, the narration text and when Abo is yelling at the TV screen before Karo informs him that he's watching a replay from the 1970's. You either need to extend the backdrops to fill the empty space on the stage or go to the 'edit this submission' page and type in the actual width level.

One way or another, you need to fix this.

Sykohyko responds:

fixed :)

I detest 3D graphics

But I'll give you a 10 anyway, being it would be hypocritical of me to enjoy Ducktale Z 3 and disregard this for the same reason I like DTZ3.

Other than that, it perplexs me. Why does the average cat go instinct? They're obviously in demand, otherwise they wouldn't be in the pet store. With that being said, people obviously breed cats for money. So they obviously aren't going to go extinct anytime soon.

Wouldn't the Tasmanian Tiger have been far more suitable since they went extinct because of people hunting them for sport?

manuelberja responds:

a.1) does the population of cat thousand years ago is the same from now?

a.2)i choose cat because it is not hunted as always but what if the endangered animals gone?what would be next? maybe 99,000 years,i said thousand years later.

a.3)you mean,you detect 3d graphics?look for author's comments

anyway thanks for 10.i appreciate it. :)

ROFLSTOMPERS!!!

I really like the style you did this in, without that stupid "Microsoft Sam" crap the CC is known for.

It's actually funnier when you just have english text with jap audio as opposed to what the CC usually does.

It was upbeat and consistant, unlike most other CC subs which are long and boring. I could probably end up watching this alot.

I'm putting this in my favorites.

thanks!!

Too much like Wizardmon

I kinda liked it, but the character looked too much like Wizardmon, not because of the hat, the staff or the clothes but everything combined.

The animation was okay, it complemented the chibi-artstyle, but there's not much redemption.

First off, since when were Glock's semi-automatic?

Secondly, now don't get me wrong, I love anime, I love the style, the artwork, the shading, the animation.... But not the cliche's.

Having someone jump in mid air with their eye's closed with random gradient's moving about in the background during a transformation is super cliche.

Alot about it is cliche, damsel in distress, nameless thug's, super hero ect.

It was okay. Could stand alot of improvement but a good start at least.

Shi-Gu responds:

Wow, thanks for the review.
I wanted a MUCH diferent feel with this, it wasn't meant to be that way, it just turned out to be really different at the end, like you say, too cliche.
Anyway, most of this animation was to practice frame by frame animation and to show my character (indeed he looks like wisardmon but it was just an accident, I made him three years ago) so at the end I didn't cared that much about it

The original is much better.

At first I thought this was the original, then through watching it through the beginning I thought was just a bad cash in, then through the middle to the end, I was just bored, although it reminded me of the early year's for Fox Kids, when they were still broadcasting the Magic School Bus, which is good on your end.

The animation is really, stock, to say the least, there's literately almost no animation. Sorry but that's just how I feel.

I'm not a graphics whore, I'm a fluent animation whore.

tweens are my friend

OMG I CANT BELIEVE IT!

THIS IS THE GREATEST FLASH OF ALL TIME!

Sexual-Lobster responds:

oh i don't know about that, glad you liked it though!

I see

But just one question, where do Sea Lice come from? And is there a way to destroy them all perminantly?

Cavebird responds:

Sea lice live on fish but only in the ocean. They die in sweet (river) water.
