What pisses me off, is that they say everyone has a fair chance at having their shit being showed to anyone looking in the portals, but yet, the flash portal gets the most attention, second by the game portal, and art and audio are left out on their own. Like I see a lot of wonderful users on this site putting up great art, audio too, and they barely get a fraction of the attention that flashes or games get. How are they suppose to get attention when their shoving users and onlookers to just those two areas? And that shit, like how do you expect the people on this site to be interactive if their afraid because, say for a instance, someone posts something great, then a few days later, posts some shit that gets em in trouble, nothing you knew or could stop, and you gets busted for it? Worst then a bag of busted assholes man.

I hear it. I think the Audio Portal gets the biggest shaft out of the four. Just yesterday I think I scouted ten people just by browsing two pages of the Review Request Club. If I recall correctly, you can't even request to be scouted. This is especially asinine when the system bugs out and everyone is suddenly unscouted again. The Audio Portal is the last place I expect for some gatekeeping bullshit since hardly anybody pays attention to it anyway; it makes almost no difference.
I know what you're saying, but at the same time, Newgrounds actually understands the internet more than the internet community understand itself.
Look at deviant art, it's swamped with crap. No, I'm not talking about sonic or pony crap, I'm talking about selfies, pictures of celebrities and photographs of guy's penises. Stuff that took no effort whatsoever.
Newgrounds does this so people can't group together to post crap. This way, if one guy gets caught, the whole thing goes down like a row of dominoes.
Let's say, we were dumb 12 year old girls and wanted to post pictures of ourselves. If ONE of us got scouted, we could get the the REST scouted and spam newgrounds with soft-focused pictures of ourselves.
If newgrounds didn't have this sort of system, we wouldn't have any sort of quality control, whatsoever.
Also, Newgrounds has really good support staff, at least in my experience. I've only been banned when I've been breaking rules in the review section and nothing I've done has been flagged. The only way you can break the rules in the art portal, from my understanding, is taking photographs or posting someone else's work.
It's not perfect, it's annoying, but it keeps idiots away.
It is still my opinion, however, that having a Judgment phase would be more fair if not effective. People would certainly gain blam points faster at least. Besides, if someone really submitted selfies like that, the mods should delete it anyway. Hiding it doesn't make it stop hogging up server space. If such a system were implemented, I doubt a bunch of twelve year olds would be able to stay organized or go the distance to get their shit to stay published. Certainly not when they can each only vote once per submission with what, level 2 accounts each? One good thing I can say about that is my blam button finally works now.
That however, is an optimistic argument. There would be of course a fleet of assholes who'd give them support just to fuck with everyone else so your argument remains sound.
That's right. What happened if a, for example, good artist make really good stuff and someday, he makes shit, and YOU scouted him. Man, a really bullshit system.
