State of affairs

Hello all.

You may have noticed I haven't been on the ball with making crew related posts lately, I've been too busy to attend to this site and keeping it clean of abusive content and reviews. I've had this on my mind for a few months & I've been wanting to avoid it, but I can't dedicate the time I wish I could to the crew.

I'm considering opening a Patreon for the Whistle Cow Crew. If I make enough at it, I could justify more time spent on this than other things. Times are harsh.

So what would our stretch goals be? Well, for one, I've always wanted to make a guide, not just a written guide on my blog but a full on tutorial made in HTML5 and submit it as a game. Originally I wanted to make it in Flash but that's been put to pasture. Now I'll need to learn three programming languages to accomplish this, HTML, CSS and Java. With enough support, I'll be able to set aside enough time to just focuse on that plus the usual posts.

I wanted to run this by you all first to get your opinion. What say you?

Yeah, sometimes life needs to be taken care of instead. I've has to scale back what I do, and I've got a lot of life that needs to be taken care of too. :\

I think you mean JavaScript, not Java? These are two different languages entirely.

I think it'd be tough to garner support for a Patreon of this sort, as we all juggle life and NG in parallel, and would probably rather dedicate our surplus free time to NG than use it to gather money to fund someone else's potential surplus time for NG... but I do like the ambition. It'd be cool if it works, so, one more vote for yes here, just a yes without very high expectations. Always better with a Patreon than no Patreon! You never know.

Yes, JavaScript, I get the two confused sometimes since it's, ironically, the only thing about the internet more reviled than Flash.

I’m not too keen on opening a Patreon just for watching over the portal. That just dissuade newcomers from joining unless they paid..

Nobody's obligated to pay for entry into the crew, that's not what I'm proposing at all.
